Campground rules and information, including quiet hours, pet rules, pool hours and more for Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping.
Campground Rules
- Quiet Hours: 10 PM to 9 AM. No radios or music, and no loud voices or loud noises of any type allowed. NO generators allowed at any time. Report disturbances when the office is closed (888) 853-6779.
- Visitors and Night Guests: Register at office - fees apply. Visitor hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM. No visitors on July 4 and Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
- Vehicles: Caution: Children appear on roads suddenly!
- The speed limit is 5mph throughout the park - staff enforced.
- Drivers must stay on designated roadways.
- Golf Carts & Side-by-Sides require a permit from the office at check-in, fees apply.
- Driver must be 21 years or older with a valid driver's license.
- Headlights are required after dark.
- ATVs (such as dirt bikes and four-wheelers) are not allowed.
- Micromobility Devices:
Electric scooters, mopeds, eBikes, hoverboards, electric skateboards, Segways, etc.- Single rider ONLY per micromobility device.
- Must be of visible height.
- The 5mph campground speed limit applies.
- Must follow ALL street signs, including stopping at all stop signs and stay on designated roadways.
- Headlights and rear lights must be on for ALL devices at night.
- Children must be supervised when operating electric or motorized vehicles.
- We encourage all riders to wear proper safety gear.
- Campground staff may require a rider to stop using a device if it is being operated unsafely.
- Pool Hours: 10 AM - 10 PM (in season). Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty.
- Lake Huron: No lifeguard on duty. Lake Huron has strong currents and changing conditions. Swim at your own risk. Canoeing, kayaking, and floats are not recommended. Water quality not monitored.
- Campsites: One outlet, one table and only one camping unit per site. Electrical adapters are available for rent or purchase at the office and Park Store.
- Fires: Fires are allowed in a container. One fire pan to a site. Do not bring firewood into the park. All campfires out at midnight.
- Shoreline fire pits are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved by placing chairs, personal belongings, or other items around them. A fire pit is considered in use only when guests are actively using the area. Unattended chairs or belongings may be removed by campground staff.
- Pets: Do not leave dogs unattended at your campsite if they will bark and disturb your neighbors. No aggressive pets. Pets must be kept quiet, on a leash & cleaned up after. (Suggested list of Dog Kennels). NO pets on the grounds of cabins, cottages, House Rentals or motel rooms.
- Unattended Items: Items left unattended at your site, rental, or other community areas are left at your own risk.
- Hammocks: Hammocks must not: damage trees, obstruct shoreline access or views, or interfere with other guests. Hammocks may not be left unattended for extended periods and may be removed by campground staff if left unattended.
- Garbage: Take all garbage to the dumpsters in the exit lanes of the park, near the office. Do not leave unattended at your site.
- Do Not Feed Wild Animals: Especially Seagulls, Geese or Swans.
- Dish Washing: No dishwashing in bathrooms or near drinking water (Michigan State Department of Health). Wash dishes at your site, put food scraps in garbage (to avoid attracting wildlife) dump dish water on road or in bushes (dish soap is biodegradable).
- Children: Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of their children. Playgrounds close at dark. Your cooperation to enforce a 10 PM curfew for minor children will be appreciated.
- Car Washing: No RV or car washing. Cheboygan has multiple touch free car wash locations.
- Firetruck: The firetruck cannot pick up unaccompanied children. It runs nightly during peak season from 6-9pm, weather and staffing permitting. Rides are first come, first serve. Pick up and dropp off at the Park Store's parking lot. On busy nights we may not be able to accommodate everyone.
- Drones: Drones are only allowed to be flown out along the shoreline in front of Posts 1-13. Strictly prohibited everywhere else.
- Firearms: Individuals who lawfully possess a firearm must transport or store the firearm in a locked, privately owned motor vehicle or their private camper.
- The Final "Common Sense" Rule: Just because there is not a rule here for something, if we determine that someone is doing something that "isn't right," you will hear from us about it.
