Mackinac Island ferry services no longer provide shuttle service to the campground.
We want to keep our campers informed! Recently, the Mackinac Island ferry services have made changes that affect transportation and parking for Island visitors.
As part of these changes, free parking in town is no longer widely available, and they are no longer willing to provide their shuttles to the ferry docks. We know this may be especially inconvenient for RV campers who prefer not to unhook their vehicles for a short drive into town.
If you plan to drive, we strongly recommend checking with your ferry provider for parking options and fees ahead of time. Please be aware that if you park outside of the designated ferry parking lots, you may receive a ticket — vehicles left in public or street parking for more than a couple of hours are being actively ticketed.
An alternative: For those who enjoy a scenic option, the State of Michigan has done an excellent job clearing and maintaining the dedicated bike trail from our area into town. This allows bicycles (and adventurous walkers) to reach the ferry docks while avoiding traffic. While this may not suit all guests, it’s a pleasant choice for many.
We greatly appreciate your understanding as we work to update our website and printed materials. These recent changes were not anticipated, and we’re committed to helping you make the best of your visit!
