Rendezvous in Mackinaw & 18th Century Trade Fair Conkling Heritage Park

18th & 19th Century life in Native American, Military & Civilian Encampment. The Fort Michilimackinac's intent is to present Native Americans, Americans, French & English as they mixed together in the 1700's & early 1800's in the Mackinaw Region.

The 18th Century Trade Fair will feature merchants & blanket traders with 18th & 19th Century crafts, clothing and accessories. There will also be Musket Firing, Cooking and other demonstrations. Hawk and knife, archery and other competitions. See below for a schedule of events.

Mackinaw Area Historic Festival

The Mackinaw Area Historic Festival takes place at Heritage Village with Vintage 1880's Baseball, period clothed docents in each of the historic buildings, children's games, Native-American displays and more.

The Historic Festival is on Friday, August 1, from 6:00 p.m. till dark, and Saturday, August 2, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Heritage Village offers a fun filled family event that celebrates history with historic programs that are free and open to all. Watch a vintage baseball game, ride on a hay wagon, take a trolley ride, play historic children’s games, dance around a maypole, square dance, watch quilters and spinners or run in an historic foot race. Chat with quilters and spinners and lumberjacks or be a heckler at the historic ball game.

Travel back to the history and stories from 1880 to 1917 at Heritage Village, just outside Mackinaw City. Visit a period of unparalleled changes in lighting, transportation, communication, housing, health care and nearly every aspect of Straits-area living. Forty three acres of natural beauty includes buildings that bring history alive and tell stories from the lives of our great grandparents and grandparents. Costumed docents in every building tell the stories of the families who lived there and talk about a time before electric lights, airplanes, and television.

Mighty Mac Golf Outing

The Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce Mighty Mac Golf Outing will be held Tuesday, July 29th at the Mackinaw Club Golf Course. Each summer the Mackinaw City Chamber supporters gather for a day of fun on the links. There is a 12:30 PM shotgun start with a scramble format. Women's, mixed and men's 4-person teams are welcome. The cost is $240 per 4-person team. Prizes include: Cash Hole in One Award, a variety of golf games and door prizes. Each player will receive 2 drink and/or pop tickets plus snacks.

Join Us for the 50th Anniversary Mustang Car Show

A Ford Mustang Car Show to celebrate its 50th Anniversary at Conkling Heritage Park in Mackinaw City, Michigan. The Mackinaw Mustang Stampede party will include Mustangs from 1964 to 2014 on display, Detroit bands and local talent on stage, food/ drink, kids activities, a craft show and will be topped off with a parade of Mustangs across the Mackinac Bridge. An event not to be missed.

Tentative Schedule:

  • Thursday evening the cars will start registering.
  • Friday cars will be on display and will be judged. Music, food and activities all day.
  • Saturday parade around 4pm. Music, food and activities all day.

Registration will remain open until July 13th!
