Speaker Series - World War II on the Great Lakes

At 7pm on July 18th, Mike LeButt, Great Lakes maritime historian, will present the pivotal role the Great Lakes played during the second world war as America became the "Arsenal of Democracy."

Dennis Hale Book Signing will be available at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Paradise, Michigan on July 3rd, 4th and 5th. Dennis Hale, Survivor of the 1966 Wreck of the Daniel J. Morrell will be at the Shipwreck Museum for book signings.

The Haunted Trail

Kick off your family Halloween events right! Hike the Haunted Trail as ghouls, goblins, and gremlins dance among the pumpkins, pines, and pitchforks. Held at Sawmill Creek Township Park just north of Paradise on Whitefish Point Road. The trail is open from 7:30 -10:00 pm. Admission is $5.00. Souvenirs, snacks, and beverages are available on sight for additional costs. Have a spookin’ good time!

Tahquamenon Harvest Festival

The Tahquamenon Harvest Festival is a two-day event in Paradise, Michigan celebrating the harvest season.

Friday, October 10th
Autumn Camping at Lower Tahquamenon Falls State Park Friday Night Fright! Pumpkin Carving, Site Decorating, Chili Cook-Off, Costume Contest & Trick-or-Treating.

Saturday, October 11th
Harvest Festival, Saturday, October 11 at the Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Participate in our annual autumn camping experience at the Overlook and Riverbend Campgrounds! Events include pumpkin carving, campsite decorating, chili cook-off, costume contests, trick-or-treating and a haunted trail in Paradise. Families, groups and couples have made camping during Harvest Festival a tradition. Contests have categories for all ages, including a pet costume contest!

Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race

The Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race consists of two MCRA sanctioned races: an individual challenge and a team of two event.

"The Great Race from the Lower Falls to Lake Superior" is the perfect way to start the morning. This 17 1/2 mile, two-person (C-2) canoe race starts at 10am. A shorter (6 1/2 mile) one-person race (C-1) begins at 3:30pm at the Tahquamenon River Mouth. The day's events conclude with a banquet and awards program.
