Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping - Emerald Ash Borer

We are working to keep the Emerald Ash Borer pest from destroying our
forests. We do this by asking every camper not to bring in outside
firewood. Those who do, we trade their wood for our own (at our expense).
These are people who have not aware of the pest despite the hundreds of
billboards, news reports, etc. We still meet with a lot of angry folks who
resent their firewood being taken away. Many make a case for why their
wood is ok. Our forests are a large percentage of ash trees and thus are
vulnerable to the pest.
